About the Role
Blue Rose Research is seeking a product-focused data scientist to develop LLM-powered research and analysis tools that will revolutionize political strategy development and communication for campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Spend time with political strategists to understand their needs and how AI can improve their work.
- Translate strategic needs into product decisions, structuring workflows for human-agent collaboration.
- Set standards for AI system rigor while balancing pragmatism with user and deadline requirements.
- Design evaluations and LLM-as-judge systems to assess feature accuracy, grounding, and usefulness.
- Prototype quickly using coding agents to test ideas before product commitment.
- Communicate findings and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a data scientist or applied statistician.
- Experience shipping features or products, not just producing analyses.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and standard statistical/ML tooling.
- Comfort working with real-world data.
- Hands-on experience evaluating or building on top of LLMs (designing eval sets, building LLM-as-judge pipelines, working with embeddings).
- Strong product instincts and focus on end-user interaction with models.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous problem-solving environments.
- Motivation by Blue Rose Research's mission and interest in the progressive political ecosystem.
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
