About the Role
The Supply Chain and Distribution team manages end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, supply planning, logistics, distribution, price control, and sales support. Nihon Servier is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to manage daily logistics, warehouse operations, and external manufacturing scheduling in Japan, ensuring compliant product distribution. This role offers future opportunities in demand and supply planning and a career path to Supply Chain Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate import and export activities and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs and trade regulations.
- Resolve customs or shipping issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage local and international logistics activities, coordinating shipments with CMOs, 3PL providers, warehouses, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Provide delivery and inbound scheduling instructions to distribution centers.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve delivery or logistics issues.
- Ensure logistics activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage relationships with external logistics service providers and CMOs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify areas for improvement with vendors.
- Coordinate corrective actions when service issues occur.
- Contribute to updating SOPs.
- Manage SAP processes and transactions in the Procure to Pay process.
- Serve as SAP Key User for Procure to Pay, ensuring problem-solving with the global SAP team.
- Manage Master Data for Materials & Cost.
- Support logistics process automation and system improvements.
- Collaborate with Quality, Finance, Commercial, and other internal teams.
- Support supply-chain projects and operational initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, import/export, or a related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or another regulated industry is preferred.
- Experience managing 3PLs, freight forwarders, or logistics vendors.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and trade compliance.
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system.
- Business-level Japanese and English proficiency (Reading & Writing required).
- Strong operational execution capability.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills.
