About the Role
The Manager – Methodology supports the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of BDO’s audit methodology, policies, guidance, and related tools. The role is responsible for executing and contributing to methodology projects, supporting technical consultations, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and helping engagement teams apply methodology requirements consistently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of quality frameworks, methodologies, policies, guidance, and tools supporting audit engagements.
- Execute and contribute to methodology projects and initiatives, taking ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables.
- Monitor changes to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and industry practices and assess their implications for audit methodologies.
- Aid in developing practical templates, guidance materials, and resources that promote consistency, scalability, and compliance across audit engagements.
- Assist in technical consultations on audit methodology matters and provide guidance on complex engagement issues.
- Engage with service lines and Learning & Development teams to identify audit capability gaps and quality risks.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the firm's audit capabilities and reputation.
Requirements
- Strong technical judgment, project management capability, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining a focus on audit quality and user experience.
- Strong background in external audit gained from a reputable professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing and Assurance.
- CA Qualified or equivalent.
- Experience in audit quality initiatives and activities, including the design and production of resources, and the design and facilitation of learning sessions.
- An ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Independent thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
