About the Role
The Regional Floating DON is responsible for supporting nursing roles within designated regions through education, training, consultation, auditing, onboarding assistance, and clinical care. This role provides interim DON coverage during critical needs, especially in 24/7 programs, and requires extensive travel within the region. Employees must participate in a structured on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Support nursing roles within service lines in designated regions.
- Provide education, training, consultation, auditing, and onboarding assistance.
- Promote the nursing profession and elevate clinical practice.
- Administer patient care systems in nursing areas and departments on an interim basis during critical needs.
- Provide DON coverage, especially in 24/7 programs.
- Travel extensively to different locations within designated regions.
- Participate in a structured on-call rotation, remaining accessible and prepared to respond to work-related needs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and four (4) years of experience with two (2) in psychiatric nursing and two (2) in a supervisory capacity OR a baccalaureate degree in nursing and (2) years of psychiatric experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted licensure as an RN in the state of residency, and/or eligible for licensure in the state of operation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have AHA CPR-BLS, First Aid, and CPI certification (hands-on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care and maintain current certification throughout employment.
- Successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
- Personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use personal vehicle for meetings and other work-related travel.
- Must maintain a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance throughout employment if the position requires driving.
