About the Role
The Construction Project Manager provides planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. This role may supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact and liaison for the owner and principal partner entities regarding contract, design, systems, procedures, and related deliverables.
- Develop project-specific procedures and documentation, and consult with the Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems.
- Ensure compliance with construction/project requirements through functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
- Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals between owner, architects, engineers, and other project entities.
- Represent the owner, project, and related parties in public forums and meetings.
- Manage project controls, cost, and performance activities, project logistics, organization, systems, and project closeout.
- Lead project meetings, including documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
- Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related entities.
- Manage bid phase services as required by the client.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required (Extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered).
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager (Education Sector is strongly preferred).
- Knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts, and delivery methods are required.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems are required.
- Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization of K-12 schools is preferred.
- Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred.
- Certified Construction Manager preferred.
