About the Role
Lead the development and execution of the HSEQ strategy across multiple business units, strengthening governance, building capability, driving accountability, and embedding a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Drive critical risk management, verification, and operational assurance activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of HSE Advisors.
- Lead audit, incident investigation, corrective action, and continuous improvement programs.
- Engage with Project Managers, senior leadership, and clients on strategic HSEQ matters.
- Drive meaningful cultural improvement across safety, quality, and operational performance.
- Provide HSEQ leadership across tenders, project mobilisation, and operational activities.
- Build capability through coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership development.
Requirements
- Experienced HSEQ leader within the construction, remediation, and marine sector.
- Commercially aware, operationally credible, and highly effective at influencing people at all levels.
- Leads from the front, builds trust quickly, and creates environments where people succeed safely.
- Energised by the opportunity to build, improve, and influence.
- Leadership experience across safety, quality, environmental, and risk functions.
- Exposure to Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) certification system preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborative leadership style focused on people, culture, and continuous improvement.
- Credibility and resilience to drive change within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience in Tier 1, Multistorey CBD work, Fuel, concrete/steel remediation is highly regarded.
- Strong background in Risk Management and audit processes.
- Proven ability to identify trends and implement targeted improvement programs.
- Understanding of Quality Management systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel to regional areas in NSW as required.
