About the Role
This is a 6-month co-op opportunity for individuals currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) degree, focusing on the design, assembly, and testing of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to cryogenic and superconducting systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and implement design solutions.
- Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other engineering.
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, setting up and executing test protocols.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and standards in a lab environment.
- Experience with 3D modeling and other engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to successfully perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
