About the Role
City St George's has invested in an Employability Development Plan (EDP) to embed employability across the curriculum. This role is key to achieving this goal by coordinating Micro-Placements, enriching the learning environment, and improving student employability and graduate outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Micro-Placements from end to end.
- Enrich the learning environment and prepare students for the world of work.
- Support and improve the employability and graduate outcomes of City students.
- Promote the Micro-Placements programme and other professional programmes.
- Work closely with communication teams on promotional strategies.
- Assist with all administration of the Micro-Placements Programme (MPP).
- Manage recruitment processes, booking rooms, catering, and IT equipment.
- Coordinate events, both in-person and virtually.
- Deal with student queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Interpret customer requirements and produce solutions.
- Organize and facilitate MPP workshops.
- Collaborate with academics, the Professional Programmes team, and Student & Academic Services.
- Mark student applications and interviews against set criteria.
- Provide detailed feedback to students at each stage of the recruitment process.
- Diagnose and solve technical issues with platforms like Moodle, Qualtrics, CareersHub, and Adobe Sign.
- Interview students and provide constructive feedback.
- Complete in-work support visits (virtual and in-person).
- Collect and analyze student and employer feedback.
- Develop recommendations to improve professional programmes.
- Update the MPP Student Code of Conduct and FAQs.
- Ensure website content and student-facing materials are up-to-date.
- Produce student-facing documents to support the process.
- Monitor student progress and signpost them to relevant support.
- Flag welfare concerns promptly.
- Coordinate tailored events and interactions with employers and alumni.
- Contribute to Social Media activity, including posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Use online platforms and tools like Squiz, CareersHub, and Qualtrics to produce project forms.
- Contribute to the delivery and development of the Careers Service.
- Ensure smooth and effective operation of the Careers Service centre.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of the graduate labour market.
- Experience related to higher education, commercial, recruitment, or marketing fields.
- Experience of forward planning in an environment with multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with careers provision in the Higher Education context.
- Ability to build confidence and provide constructive criticism.
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative.
- Ability to plan well in advance.
- Highly developed project management skills.
