About the Role
The Assistant Manager will oversee a wide variety of areas within Planet Fitness, focusing on managing front desk personnel, assisting the General Manager, and ensuring effective day-to-day front-of-house operations.
Responsibilities
- Understand and drive club metrics in alignment with business performance.
- Develop thorough knowledge of club services, programs, and products.
- Maintain current knowledge of key competitors.
- Assist in the interviewing and recruitment process by completing initial phone interviews.
- Monitor inventory and review daily/weekly/monthly sales numbers with GM.
- Communicate and uphold company standards, leading by example.
- Manage a clean, friendly, and well-maintained club.
- Ensure team members consistently execute basics in punctuality, dress code, friendliness, and cleanliness.
- Develop and maintain cleaning duties for front desk employees.
- Oversee overnight employees.
- Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations with management and HR.
- Cover shifts for employees when there are call-outs or vacancies.
- Assist the Club Manager with shift coverage.
- Oversee club audits to ensure all areas are clean, neat, organized, and in "like new" condition.
- Mentor Front End employees to promote career growth through training, development, and performance assessment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Club Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

- Comfortable working a flexible rotating schedule.
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- Ability to talk and hear, sit, stand, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
- A High School Diploma Or Equivalent required.
- 6 months Supervisor or Manager experience in a restaurant or retail environment in a high volume atmosphere.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel).
- Bi-lingual preferred.
- Discuss availability with the Hiring Manager and/or notate it on your application.
- Weekday and/or Weekend Hours based on club needs.
- Open or Flexible availability is a plus.
