About the Role
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Marketing and Event Coordinator to join the Firmwide Communications team in Raleigh, NC. This role plans and coordinates the company's participation in national A/E/C industry conferences and supports the Communications team with various responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of planning, marketing, and communication skills to support assigned conferences and develop related content for internal and external audiences. Applicants should be professional, self-motivated, and passionate about providing high-quality support. Some travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engagement and effective participation at national conferences with Kimley-Horn attendees.
- Prepare event activities to maximize company ROI based on business goals.
- Develop proposals for speaker presentations, white papers, project awards, and other marketing content in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Liaise with industry organizations regarding upcoming events, partnerships, and marketing opportunities.
- Write and edit content for intranet, external website, social media platforms, award submittals, and other channels.
- Coordinate event-related needs including registration, travel reservations, RSVP tracking, promotional material ordering, deadline tracking, information gathering for the company website, venue research and securing, marketing material development, and data entry.
- Partner with social media manager and web strategist to promote conference involvement and other marketing activities.
- Manage projects independently and delegate tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization via multiple communication methods.
- Ability to manage organizational tasks independently and through others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in synthesizing clear actions and deliverables while working with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organization, detail-orientation, and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to be flexible and handle last-minute or large-scale requests.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision.
- Exceptional client service mentality, strong work ethic, and take-charge attitude.
- Occasional travel required.
- Applicable four-year degree.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in marketing or event coordination.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments and deadlines concurrently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in a corporate environment (Desired).
- Experience in event planning in a business setting (Desired).
- Experience working with remote teams (Desired).
- Proactive mindset to deliver exceptional results (Desired).
