About the Role
Oversee the daily pharmacy operations of a community-based retail pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining high standards of patient safety. This role offers a stable Monday-Friday schedule, manageable prescription volume, and a flexible working environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Supervising Pharmacist / Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state and federal regulations.
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications while maintaining patient safety.
- Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, including prescription workflow, inventory, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy support staff.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, insurance providers, and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and medication-related questions.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and support the pharmacy's growth and efficient operation.
Requirements
- Active New York State pharmacist license in good standing.
- Ability and willingness to serve as the Supervising Pharmacist / Pharmacist-in-Charge.
- Strong understanding of retail pharmacy operations, prescription processing, and pharmacy compliance requirements.
- Experience with Micro Merchant Systems, or similar pharmacy management software preferred; training can be provided.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a responsible and dependable approach.
- Previous pharmacist experience preferred; qualified recent graduates with appropriate licensure and knowledge may be considered.
