The Payroll Implementation team plays a critical role in enabling clients to operate efficiently, remain compliant, and deliver a better experience to their employees by redesigning systems and operational processes. This role is meaningful for those who take pride in solving complex problems and driving measurable operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete payroll implementation journey from discovery workshops to solution design, system configuration, testing, and cutover readiness.
  • Assess client business requirements against system capabilities and partner across teams to design practical solutions.
  • Use advanced SQL skills to validate configurations, analyze data, and investigate issues.
  • Evaluate current payroll processes for inefficiencies, compliance risks, and opportunities, then design and recommend improved future-state processes.
  • Provide direction and coaching to Business Analysts and team members, promote best practices, and capture lessons learned.
  • Translate complex payroll and technical concepts into clear language for business and technical audiences.
  • Facilitate workshops, document outcomes, drive decisions to resolution, and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Deep payroll expertise, including closed-loop payroll processes, system architecture, configuration, and controls.
  • Fluency in payroll best practices and common implementation challenges.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and issue investigation.
  • Hands-on configuration experience with major payroll or benefits systems (SAP, Workday, ADP, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability to break down complex requirements and identify root causes.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a drive to dig deeper.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain intricate payroll concepts and facilitate alignment across stakeholders.
  • Personnel Security Screening conducted through the Government of Canada may be required for certain roles.
