About the Role
NextGen Security is seeking a CAD Designer to join our fast growing and dynamic team. This individual will work closely with the CAD Supervisor, Engineers, Account Managers, and Project Managers to create detailed drawing packages for various clients, assemble project documentation, handle in-house permitting activities for the Dallas-area, and provide support to other various offices throughout the region. This individual will focus strictly on 2D design drawings using AutoCAD but may need to work with SOLIDWORKS on custom 3D printing projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed drawing packages for various clients.
- Assemble project documentation.
- Handle in-house permitting activities for the Dallas-area.
- Provide support to other various offices throughout the region.
- Focus strictly on 2D design drawings using AutoCAD.
- Work with SOLIDWORKS on custom 3D printing projects as required.
- Perform occasional duties in the field (Field Surveys, Project Meetings).
- Use and maintain a plotter.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent Certificate in Drafting & Design (or 2 years equivalent work experience).
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2018 or higher.
- Proficient in creating and editing 2D technical drawings.
- Experience with Floor Plans, Riser Diagrams & Wiring Schematics.
- Ability to work independently & productively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to support multiple projects & meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate & communicate efficiently with all offices in the region.
- Ability to work & understand International Codes for permitting under various jurisdictions.
- Ability to work Overtime when required.
- Experience with Windows 10 Operating Systems.
- Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio).
