About the Role
AECOM is seeking a creative and talented Interior Designer for our Boston, MA office. This role is central to our operations in New England and involves contributing to design excellence and integrated project delivery solutions within our Buildings + Places business line. You will work on industry-leading design projects across various markets, collaborating with a global team to solve complex infrastructure challenges and create a better world.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and develop design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria.
- Complete design assignments of moderate complexity under supervision, analyzing issues and identifying solutions.
- Engage in client-facing interactions including presentations, meetings, and follow-ups.
- Prepare designs, presentations, and drawings using project specifications and instructions.
- Understand the purpose and use of vendor documents.
- Meet deadlines and work within budget constraints, considering material and labor costs.
- Understand the construction process, including field reviews, change orders, and RFIs.
- Be collaborative, problem-solving, adaptable, and interested in new technologies like AI.
- Acquire skills and knowledge through education, training, and new experiences, sharing learnings with team members.
- Manage and communicate with junior and senior staff.
- Adhere to quality control procedures and tactics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and 4 years of related interior design experience in commercial interior construction projects or demonstrated equivalency.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suites software (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills.
- US Citizenship is required.
- NCIDQ or NCARB certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months).
