About the Role
The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Seasonal Outside Golf Operations Attendant to provide complete services for members and their guests relating to handling of bags, golf carts, and driving range operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties according to the daily procedures set by the Golf Department.
- Prepares all golf carts for the day’s play, ensuring they are clean and stocked.
- Maintains cart storage building and surrounding areas in a neat, organized manner.
- Monitors areas periodically throughout the day to ensure neatness and order.
- Obtains a daily starting sheet and lesson sheet for the day’s activity.
- Sets up all groups & lessons one hour in advance.
- Cleans carts upon completion of play and places on charge if not to be used again.
- Rotates each golf cart as designated by the golf cart mechanic.
- Washes clubs upon completion of play and stores them properly.
- Ensures members or guests do not handle their own bags.
- Notifies Management if any vehicle has been taken without proper registry.
- Ensures all clubs taken off property are logged out and logged back in.
- Notifies the Cart Mechanic of any mechanical problems and assists with non-technical maintenance.
- Opens driving range to ensure it is ready for use at the posted opening time.
- Ensures all comfort stations are neat and fully stocked.
- Maintains driving range throughout the day by checking comfort stations and chipping greens.
- Closes driving range and chipping greens and sets up for next day operation.
- Picks up balls from driving range and collects trash.
- Assists in all special events of the Golf Department.
- Assists all staff members in enforcing policies, procedures, and services.
- Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the general public courteously and professionally.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of the Glen Oaks Club.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf.
Requirements
- Requires some knowledge of the game of golf.
- Previous country club experience preferred.
- Mobility to carry and lift golf bags above the head weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one’s feet and work in outside conditions for long periods.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and members.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
