About the Role

This position is responsible for the execution of all activities of the FSQA department technicians to include food safety programs, specification adherence, and product quality for products within their assigned facility and shift.

Responsibilities

  • Assure FSQA team members adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out protocols during equipment sanitation inspections.
  • Train and develop hourly FSQA team members, enforcing company policies through coaching, verification, and accountability.
  • Routinely audit for compliance with regulatory, customer, and Peco FSQA policies and procedures, including HACCP, GMP, prerequisites, and customer procedures.
  • Verify finished product conformity to customer and Peco specifications.
  • Routinely verify FSQA team member sampling procedures to maintain accurate and consistent protocols.
  • Ensure data is entered into data collection systems per customer requirements.
  • Follow up on product issues and audit results as directed by the FSQA Manager.
  • Verify pre-operational programs through organoleptic and surface ATP or APC sampling.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken for non-compliant areas.
  • Provide reporting and feedback to the plant management team.
  • Communicate with USDA as needed during plant FSIS verification activities.
  • Participate in facility and foreign material prevention best practices audits.
  • Ensure the test kitchen conducts cook-offs and other testing at specified frequencies and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Conduct daily sensory evaluation of products with documented results.
  • Maintain the Hold and Release program for the assigned shift, updating status to the FSQA Manager.
  • Participate on cross-functional improvement teams as requested by the FSQA Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the FSQA Manager.
