About the Role
Mastercard is seeking a Director, North American B2B Secular Shift – Property & Casualty Insurance to drive growth in the segment through the commercialization of our solutions and value proposition. This role involves engaging clients, identifying high-potential opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and closing deals, focusing on the significant B2B payment opportunity in the US & Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the Property & Casualty Insurance Secular Shift go-to-market strategy across NAM, focusing on existing and new issuer partners and distribution channels.
- Expand Mastercard’s footprint, grow market share, and enhance leadership in the Property & Casualty Insurance segment.
- Work cross-functionally with the Commercial and New Payment Flows team to partner and cross-sell solutions.
- Partner closely with Account and Business Development teams to engage clients, identify opportunities, build sales pipeline, and close deals.
- Drive commercialization efforts by collaborating with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Franchise, and Customer Delivery stakeholders.
- Ensure the Property & Casualty Insurance needs-based and customer-centric narrative is communicated internally and externally.
- Support client-facing negotiations and lead key deals, ensuring segment incentives align with client needs and Mastercard’s value proposition.
- Track and manage pipeline performance using SFDC and commercialization tools.
- Champion internal alignment across product groups, Finance, and Sales Excellence to generate buy-in from stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Develop and promote SMB growth strategies, identifying best practices and scalable models.
- Foster sales enablement by creating client materials, training sessions, and use-case content tailored to SMB needs.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on understanding of POS and Invoice Payments in the Property & Casualty Insurance Segment.
- Understanding of the systems and infrastructure supporting the Property & Casualty Insurance segment.
- Knowledge of payment options available within those systems.
- Understanding of issuer and acquirer behavioral drivers.
- Empathy for client constraints and clarity on motivating behavior change.
- Ability to operate with pace, move ideas into action quickly, prioritize, and overcome obstacles.
- Motivation to shift entrenched behaviors and move legacy payment flows toward card-based solutions.
- Ability to connect customer needs to business outcomes.
- Skill in identifying high-value use cases and articulating compelling value propositions.
- Ability to translate strategy into adoption and spend growth.
- Ability to lead through influence, bringing together product, sales, marketing, and operations partners.
- Ability to balance quantitative insight with qualitative understanding for prioritization and decision-making.
- Ability to tell a clear story to senior leaders.
- Accountability for outcomes, quick learning, and continuous improvement.
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information.
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings.
