About the Role
Mastercard is seeking a Director, North American B2B Secular Shift – Construction & Trades to drive growth in the segment through the commercialization of our solutions and value proposition. This role involves engaging clients, identifying high-potential opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and closing deals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the Construction & Trades Secular Shift go-to-market strategy across NAM, focusing on existing and new issuer partners and distribution channels.
- Expand Mastercard’s footprint, grow market share, and enhance leadership in the Construction & Trades segment.
- Work cross-functionally across the broader Commercial and New Payment Flows team to partner and cross-sell solutions.
- Partner closely with Account and Business Development teams to engage clients, identify opportunities, build a sales pipeline, and close deals.
- Drive commercialization efforts by working cross-functionally with stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Marketing, Franchise, and Customer Delivery.
- Ensure seamless execution of segment initiatives and adequate resources for success.
- Ensure the Construction & Trades needs-based and customer-centric narrative is driven throughout the organization and with customers and prospects.
- Support client-facing negotiations, leading or co-leading key deals, ensuring segment incentives are included, and aligning Mastercard’s value proposition with client needs.
- Track and manage pipeline performance using SFDC and commercialization tools.
- Champion internal alignment across product groups, Finance, and Sales Excellence to generate buy-in and momentum from stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Develop and promote SMB growth strategies, identifying best practices and scalable models that drive measurable results in issuer portfolios.
- Foster sales enablement by creating compelling client materials, training sessions, and use-case content tailored to SMB needs and opportunities.

- Understanding of issuer and acquirer behavioral drivers.
- Empathy for client constraints and clarity on what motivates behavior change.
- Operates with pace, moves ideas into action quickly, prioritizes effectively, and pushes through obstacles.
- Motivated by shifting entrenched behaviors, particularly moving legacy payment flows toward modern, card-based solutions.

- Ability to identify high-value use cases, articulate compelling value propositions, and translate strategy into adoption and spend growth.
- Leads through influence, bringing together product, sales, marketing, and operations partners around a shared goal and clear execution plan.
- Balances quantitative insight with qualitative understanding to prioritize, make decisions, and communicate with senior leaders.

- Responsible for information security, including abiding by security policies, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information, reporting suspected violations, and completing mandatory security trainings.
