About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist / Office Assistant to be the first point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors, and professionals. This varied role combines reception duties with general office and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and welcoming visitors, relatives, and visiting professionals to the home.
  • Conducting show-arounds of the home for prospective residents and their families.
  • Answering and transferring telephone calls, taking messages, and dealing with enquiries professionally.
  • Scanning documents and uploading staff training records onto the ASC platform.
  • Providing general office and administrative support to the Home Manager and wider team.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised records and filing.
  • Ensuring confidential information is handled appropriately.
  • Keeping the reception and office areas clean, tidy, safe, and welcoming.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the reception and office.
  • Prioritising tasks and working to required deadlines.
  • Supporting the management team and other colleagues with administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a reception, administration, or similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise workload.
  • Good attention to detail and takes pride in their work.
  • Confident using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with residents, relatives, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently, use own initiative, and also work well as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and able to respond positively to the changing needs of a busy care home.
  • Previous experience working within a care home or similar environment would be desirable.
