About the Role
BRG's Economics, Disputes & Investigations practice is seeking a Senior Associate or Consultant to work on complex commercial dispute and investigations matters with top experts. This role involves collaborative work within a team of experts and staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files.
- Assist in the analysis of financial statements, general ledgers, tax returns, and other financial documents.
- Support the preparation of expert witness reports through analysis and opinion.
- Perform detailed research and analysis, including reviewing dispute-related documents and accounting standards.
- Analyze historical and projected financial information and develop complex financial models.
- Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of software tools, analytical methods, and computer models.
- Organize and maintain case documents and folders, creating electronic libraries.
- Audit own work and the work of others to ensure quality.
- Participate in a team environment to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed.
Requirements
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in an audit, forensics, or dispute & damages capacity at an accounting and/or consulting firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements (e.g., GAAP, and the relationship between debits and credits and statement of cash flow, income statement, balance sheet, and trial balance).
- Proven capability with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Foundational experience with statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and Python).
