About the Role
Provide a discreet, hospitality-forward protective presence across a high-profile Class A office campus. The role emphasizes anticipation, relationship-building, and de-escalation, with the firearm serving as an emergency protective tool rather than the primary identity of the role.
Responsibilities
- Provide discreet protective capability within a high-profile Class A office campus.
- Identify and communicate emerging concerns before they become incidents.
- Coordinate with Building Management, Director of Security, SOC, Securitas, law enforcement, and visiting protective details.
- Provide trained protective response during serious security or life-safety events.
- Maintain a polished presence in lobbies/common areas, engaging naturally while remaining alert.
- De-escalate situations via courtesy and redirection.
- Continuously assess for pre-incident indicators and report verified observations promptly.
- Support senior executive and official visits, coordinating access/routes, and deferring to lead protective operations.
- Respond to medical, fire/life-safety, threat, and violent-behavior events, using force only when legally justified, necessary, and proportionate.
- Maintain contemporaneous notes and complete Daily Activity Reports.
- Immediately report any use of force or firearm display.
Requirements
- 6+ years in law enforcement, federal protective services, executive protection, military protective operations, or high-profile corporate security.
- Plainclothes/low-profile protective experience in a civilian setting strongly preferred.
- Documented firearms proficiency and a record of professional restraint and judgment.
- Strong interpersonal presence with executives, tenants, and law enforcement without a tactical posture.
- Excellent written/verbal communication.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid (or obtainable before assignment).
- Current CA BSIS Security Guard Registration (when performed as a registered guard) and BSIS Firearms Permit matching carried caliber.
- For concealed carry in civilian clothes: valid CA CCW or qualifying peace-officer concealed-carry authority.
- Current firearms requalification/training; compliance with all site-specific carry restrictions and post orders.
