About the Role
Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. The Developer Success team is building tools for game developers to harness the power of Discord in their games and communities, fostering better and deeper relationships through gaming. Our engineering culture values collaboration and trust.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, high-impact projects that unlock new capabilities for game developers, including APIs, the Discord app, developer portal, realtime infrastructure, or C++ SDKs.
- Collaborate with engineers to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code.
- Lead projects through the entire lifecycle: requirement gathering, milestone breakdown, building, and shipping.
- Understand and address the needs of game developer partners by engaging in partner meetings and answering questions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner managers to define project direction.
- Maintain performance and reliability standards for features.
- Raise the software quality bar through attention to detail.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- Experience with Python and Typescript/React, or willingness to learn other stacks like Elixir, Rust, or C++.
- Experience building software that leverages large data-based applications.
- A sense for product and design, with the ability to express opinions and collaborate cross-functionally.
- A holistic approach to problem-solving, addressing issues from first principles.
- Actively leverage AI coding tools to accelerate productivity.
