About the Role

AHRC NYC seeks a Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) for their Manhattan Adult Day Services program. The BIS will provide behavior support services, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment as part of interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized behavior support plans and staff intervention plans after functional assessment.
  • Implement and monitor effective behavioral data tracking systems.
  • Complete additional behavior health related plans and documents.
  • Provide training to staff on behavior treatment plans and behavioral health topics.
  • Complete assessment and Psychological Evaluations.
  • Engage individuals in individual and/or group treatment.
  • Coordinate psychological care and behavioral programs with families, medical providers, residential settings, or other stakeholders.
  • Provide crisis intervention and instruct staff on addressing challenging behaviors.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on individuals with behavioral challenges.
  • Maintain appropriate service records for individuals supported for quality intervention and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform duties to ensure compliance with relevant regulations governing service provision, including record keeping.
  • Conduct other related tasks as needed or required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in clinical/treatment psychology with training in assessment and behavioral support plans.
  • 2+ years of direct experience with developmental disabilities: creating, implementing, and monitoring behavioral support plans or supervising/training others in their implementation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience overseeing administrative tasks for regulatory compliance and program operations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced, evolving environments and organizational cultures.
