About the Role
PDG is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer for its Rochester, NY office to join a growing and talented team. This role involves performing engineering evaluations, analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimation with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering evaluations and analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications and cost estimation with minimal supervision.
- Perform fire suppression system selection, preparing preliminary designs, and creating performance specifications.
- Perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and estimate construction costs and evaluate feasibility of construction.
- Assist upper level management and staff as a technical expert.
- Apply mechanical engineering and mathematical principles.
- Contribute to more complex aspects of a project.
Requirements
- Knowledge of NYS Plumbing codes and NFPA.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform standard engineering analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems using the latest codes and technologies.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
