About the Role

By joining the American Red Cross, you will touch millions of lives every year and experience theוג the human spirit at its best. You will be utilizing your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and following safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Responsibilities

  • Connect personally with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for volunteer donors.
  • Ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.
  • Assist with every step of the blood collection process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Minimum height of 60 inches may be required to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
