About the Role
The Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor is responsible for front-line employee supervision, daily operations, meal service and delivery, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. The Supervisor acts as an ambassador and liaison within Nutrition and Food Services, serving as a resource and leader for employees and remote sites. This role assists in administrative and operational functions within designated areas, aligning with the NFS strategic plan and prioritizing patient safety through quality assurance and task coordination.
Responsibilities
- Front-line supervision of employees
- Day-to-day operations management
- Meal service and delivery oversight
- Ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas
- Acting as an ambassador and liaison within the integrated model of Nutrition and Food Services
- Serving as a resource and leader for employees and remote sites
- Assisting in carrying out administrative and operational functions
- Coordinating tasks for patient safety and quality assurance
Requirements
- Completion of a Nutrition post-secondary degree (preferred) or a recognized course in Food and Nutrition Management
- Red Seal Cook Certification is an asset
- Completion of an Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training
- Minimum of two (2) years' preferred experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations (recent relevant experience within the last 5 years)
- Experience preferred in a health care setting and unionized environment
- Knowledge of and experience in customer-focused food service operations; room service model preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities/staff management/coaching in a unionized environment
- Demonstrated accountability (fiscal, quality improvement, food safety, effective use of food resources, policy implementation/create supportive environments for healthy eating, marketing)
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and positive change management orientation
- Resume includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications
