About the Role

The Solution Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and implementing existing change data capture (CDC) solutions to ensure real-time data replication. This role involves designing and implementing automation features, consulting with business delivery teams, and contributing to the design of delivery solutions. The position works closely with Enterprise Architects, platform Engineers, enterprise event hub engineers, operations, and governance teams, and requires establishing strong relationships with global business delivery teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, deployment, and rollout of enhancements on the API Platform, both in the cloud and on premise.
Participate in the design of delivery solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
Design and implement automation features to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Consult on API standards and best practices with business delivery teams, focusing on REST API best practices.
Leverage the construction, maintenance, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure for platform development, including gateway/service-mesh, runtimes, security, logging, and exception handling.
Utilize CI/CD Pipeline for API platform enhancements.
Proactively identify defects in platform modules, debug issues, and provide effective solutions.
Participate in designing, running, and interpreting performance and load-testing processes and implementing required optimizations.
Mentor and coach team members on build and deployment best practices.
Ensure projects follow best practices for continuous integration and delivery.
Collaborate with business and technology partners to ensure effective implementation of new technologies supporting API Governance and standardization.
Create and maintain technical documentation for the CDC solution, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and troubleshooting steps.
Continuously identify and implement enhancements to improve the scalability and performance of the CDC solution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related area.
8+ years of experience programming in Java.
Work experience in DevOps, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.
Understanding of APIs, Event Driven Solutions, DevOps, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud.
Self-starter with tenacious inquisitiveness and a desire to learn, who will proactively find and explore solutions and provide recommendations.
Knowledge of REST API design standards.
Good working knowledge of API design specifications like Open API.
Ability to manage through influence in a complex and evolving environment to meet challenging timelines and organizational goals.
Ability to establish and maintain a good team environment, develop a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.
Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the proven ability to negotiate and influence others to obtain desired results.
Strong professional consulting skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
Mature, confident, and performance-oriented.
Capable of developing strong relationships with all levels of management.
