About the Role

Wunderlich-Malec (WM) is seeking a Welder Structural Fabricator for its Baldwin, FL facility. This role is crucial for producing equipment as supplied with engineered systems, involving modular building assembly, skidded control system fabrication, and general mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit-out with doors, HVACs, etc.
Proper layout of mechanical equipment within the modular building.
Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings.
Assembling, installing, and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components neatly and professionally within modular control buildings.
Visually locate components and determine proper clearances.
Properly label and document component identification and location.
Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized production area daily.
Review BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly.
Proper use of industrial tools, such as welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, benders, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
Work with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines.

Requirements

Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and details.
Good employee interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers and engineering support.
Familiar with the use of a personal computer (PC) for entering timesheets, expense reports, printing wire labels, etc.
Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in the assembly area.
Strong time management and organization skills.
Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
Good visual perception to see small electrical wires and components within the panel boards.
Must have full dexterity in hands and fingers to utilize a variety of tools and equipment for electrical assembly.
Ability to stand and/or kneel for long periods.
Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines.
Ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
