About the Role
Applied Materials' Global Supply Chain Department is searching for interns to join our team in 2027. Interns will support the Procurement/Purchasing group, ensuring timely delivery of materials to factories while meeting cost and quality targets.
Responsibilities
- Completing supplier request for quotations (RFQs)
- Working with suppliers on obsolescence compliance and training
- Preparing supplier profiles for management presentation
- Performing part analytics to ensure parts are assigned to the proper commodity family
- Interacting with Suppliers on cost reduction opportunities
- Supporting Supplier Account Managers in various tasks
- Performing Buyer functions, including PO creation, rescheduling, and cancellation
- Contacting suppliers for material status and expediting
- Resolving Accounts Payable issues related to PO invoice and receipt discrepancies
- Finding alternate/emergency sources for material
- Providing material delivery updates to factory stakeholders and leadership
- Mitigating excess POs and inventory through supplier negotiations
- Performing MRP and Spend Analytics for business practice optimization
- Developing automated tools for KPIs follow-up and compliance
Requirements
- Student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related major
- Student must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Ability to problem-solve creatively and analytically
- Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Excellent listening, writing, quantitative, qualitative and oral communication skills
- Data analytics skills (e.g., advanced Excel, working with multiple data sets)
- Desire for continuous learning and improvement
- Flexible and adaptable mindset, thrives in a results-driven culture
