About the Role
Beverage Mart Clerks sell merchandise to customers, assist them in obtaining products, and provide superior customer service. They calculate and total purchases, handle cash, and ensure accurate transactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist and serve customers, communicating orally about products, prices, and payment methods.
- Process customer purchases using a computerized cash register, handle company funds accurately, and make change.
- Complete paperwork for register cash-downs and prepare money for pickups.
- Receive and price new merchandise, stock shelves, and maintain product displays.
- Answer telephone inquiries from customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of product identification, sizes, and alcoholic beverage offerings.
- Engage in suggestive selling and product merchandising.
- Maintain inventory control and identify stocking needs.
- Ensure cleanliness of the workstation, including sweeping and dusting.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
- Comply with state laws and company policies regarding the sale of age-restricted products.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Report associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, and property defacement to management.
- Maintain a favorable impression through professional dress, hygiene, and attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- TABC certified upon employment.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
