About the Role
Shepherd Village is seeking a Part-time Casual Housekeeper to perform assigned housekeeping duties, ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting environment for residents. The role emphasizes resident well-being, comfort, independence, and involvement in decisions.
Responsibilities
- Provide a clean, safe, and inviting environment for Shepherd Village residents.
- Maintain efficient and effective performance of all housekeeping duties.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Follow all Shepherd Village policies, procedures, and Workplace Health & Safety Act requirements.
- Work in varied areas with assigned duties, ensuring cleanliness.
- Empty waste receptacles, clean washrooms, and replenish supplies.
- Disinfect surfaces and maintain offices, entrances, elevators, and staff areas.
- Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
- Move furniture for weekly thorough cleaning.
- Complete projecting cleaning in rooms, common areas, and kitchen.
- Report deficiencies to the coordinator and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform transfers within the Village as required.
Requirements
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English.
- Must demonstrate professional conduct and compliance with the Ontario Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and related policies.
- Flexibility in hours and shifts is required.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
- Successful candidates must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
