About the Role
In this position, you will perform a variety of warehouse duties operating various equipment, supporting our cold storage and food distribution operations. This position is represented by UFCW Local 663 and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including applicable union membership and/or service fee requirements following 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight in a safe, efficient, accurate, and timely manner
- Move customer product to storage areas using proper material handling equipment and efficiently stage product for storage in the appropriate area
- Place palletized product in storage racks on the refrigerated dock or in the freezer, and record and communicate the location with customer coordinators
- Pick orders for shipment and assemble customer product to be shipped
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of adulteration, damage, and temperature abuse
- Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
- Maintain housekeeping for a safe, clean, and neat warehouse
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including required PPE for cold temperatures, overhead obstructions, noise, and battery-handling hazards
- Charge and maintain material handling equipment batteries as needed
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all managers and employees
- Notify the Warehouse Operations Manager of any problems with procedures or equipment to help maintain the highest degree of safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Prior warehouse, forklift, or material handling experience highly preferred
- Ability to work in a cold storage/freezer environment and operate powered industrial equipment
- Willingness to complete mandatory annual 8-hour HAZWOPER safety training
