About the Role
At Spectacle, a Student Optician is a curator of vision and style, blending clinical expertise with a high-fashion sensibility to exceed client expectations. You will promote the Spectacle culture through impeccable service and comprehensive product knowledge, acting as an optician, stylist, problem-solver, and brand ambassador.
Responsibilities
- Provide "concierge-level" service, guiding clients through frame selection based on prescription and personality.
- Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge, acting as an expert stylist for eyewear.
- Assist in measuring pupillary distance, vertex distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
- Handle frame adjustments and minor repairs.
- Brainstorm creative ways to optimize the customer journey and improve store flow.
- Communicate Spectacle’s core values and independent brand philosophies to customers.
- Collaborate with Optometrists and senior Opticians for a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Opticianry program (in good standing) seeking clinical hours.
- Previous experience in a sales or high-touch service environment is required.
- Availability to work a retail schedule, including weekends, some evenings, and special brand events.

- Knowledge of face shapes, color theory, and technical nuances of bridge fits.
- Finesse in frame adjustments and minor repairs.
