About the Role
We are hiring an IT & DevOps Engineer to manage internal systems, handle IT and infrastructure needs, and build automation for our globally distributed team. This role involves managing internal systems, identity and access operations, and contributing to internal DevOps by building shared infrastructure and tooling for consulting project teams. The position offers hands-on work with a growing scope.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day operation of internal infrastructure and IT systems using Linux, cloud infrastructure, and identity/access management.
- Serve as the primary US-hours point of contact for escalated IT and infrastructure requests.
- Run identity and access operations, including provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding across various platforms.
- Operate and maintain infrastructure across AWS, containers, and virtualization, including monitoring, patching, backup, and recovery.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules, project scaffolding, and CI/CD patterns for consulting project teams.
- Diagnose and resolve failures in automation and integrations, ensuring reliability and proper credential management.
- Utilize AI tools for recurring operational work and document built systems.
- Manage endpoint and hardware lifecycle, asset tracking, and software licensing for the Austin office.
- Implement and operate security standards, including secrets management, least-privilege configuration, and infrastructure-as-code review.
- Evaluate software, libraries, and tooling based on license, privacy, and vulnerability criteria.
- Conduct periodic access reviews and audits, remediate findings, and respond to incidents.
- Take on customer-facing deployment, infrastructure, and support work as assigned.
- Monitor and help optimize cloud spend across the infrastructure.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure, and identity and access design.
- Experience with identity and access operations across GitHub, JumpCloud, Keycloak, Quay, AWS, and Google Workspace.
- Experience operating and maintaining infrastructure across AWS, containers, and virtualization.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code modules, project scaffolding, and CI/CD patterns.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving failures in automation and integrations.
- Experience managing endpoint and hardware lifecycle, asset tracking, and software licensing.
- Experience implementing and operating security standards such as secrets management and least-privilege configuration.
- Experience evaluating software, libraries, and tooling.
- Experience conducting access reviews and audits.
- Experience responding to incidents.
- Experience with customer-facing deployment, infrastructure, and support work.
- Experience monitoring and optimizing cloud spend.
