About the Role
Heritage Senior Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Resident Assistant / CNA Supervisor to lead and support our resident care team while remaining actively involved in providing exceptional care to our residents. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys caring for older adults, mentoring others, and helping a team provide consistent, resident-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership to Resident Assistant/CNAs, ensuring residents receive high-quality care according to their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
- Supervise Resident Assistant/CNAs and ensure residents receive compassionate, individualized care.
- Provide day-to-day direction, support, and guidance to care team members.
- Train, coach, and mentor new and existing Resident Assistant/CNAs.
- Reinforce expectations for resident care, documentation, customer service, safety, and professionalism.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching.
- Participate in corrective and disciplinary processes.
- Review assignments and coordinate workflow based on resident and community needs.
- Monitor and audit care documentation, assignment sheets, and other required records.
- Participate in daily care focus meetings and required training.
- Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques and assistive equipment.
- Complete scheduled rounds and wellness checks.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident calls, pages, and alarms.
- Assist and escort residents to appointments, activities, and other community programs.
- Help residents maintain the highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Maintain each resident's privacy, dignity, independence, freedom of choice, and individuality.
- Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, mobility, or other needs and promptly report concerns.
- Review the 24-hour communication report at the beginning of each shift.
- Contribute observations and resident information to the service-planning process.
- Communicate resident needs and concerns effectively with families, supervisors, physicians, pharmacies, outside providers, and other team members.
- Help ensure important information is communicated between shifts and departments.
- Assist with medication administration when appropriately trained and delegated.
- Monitor Medication Administration Record (MAR) documentation for completion and accuracy.
- Assist with controlled-substance counts and required proof-of-use documentation.
- Help ensure medication carts are appropriately secured, organized, and supplied.
- Obtain vital signs and collect specimens as assigned.
- Complete other resident-care responsibilities according to training, delegation, company procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Understand and uphold resident rights at all times.
- Promote an environment free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, misappropriation of property, and inappropriate restraint.
- Promptly report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, resident-rights violations, safety concerns, or other reportable incidents.
- Follow safety, infection-control, and standard precaution practices.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and homelike environment.
- Identify and report supply, equipment, maintenance, or safety needs.
- Protect residents' personal belongings and follow established procedures when items are reported missing.
- Promote positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and community partners.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, employees, healthcare providers, and community leadership.
- Read and complete ISPs, care documentation, MARs, reports, assignment sheets, and other required records.
- Stand and walk for extended periods while providing resident care and supervising care operations.
- Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and perform other movements necessary to assist residents.
- Frequently lift, move, push, or pull significant weight associated with resident care and transfers, using appropriate assistance and equipment.
- Safely assist residents with transfers, mobility, positioning, and activities of daily living using proper techniques and assistive devices.
- Safely operate floor lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, and other resident-assistance equipment.
- Perform duties involving direct physical contact with residents and potential exposure to bodily fluids.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work a flexible schedule based on resident and community needs, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and additional hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion and maintenance of required CBRF certifications.
- Ability to meet applicable pre-employment, training, certification, and regulatory requirements.

- Previous lead, mentor, or supervisory experience preferred.
