About the Role
As a Blue Bottle Leader in Training, you will guide team members in delivering exceptional hospitality and coffee experiences, ensuring adherence to cafe standards and business objectives. You will collaborate with the Cafe Leader on critical aspects like ordering, inventory, and workflow optimization to enhance cafe performance. Additionally, you will foster a culture of continuous learning, prioritizing training in hospitality excellence, product quality, and team growth.
Responsibilities
- Assume full accountability for cafe operations in the absence of the Cafe Leader.
- Foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous learning within the team.
- Communicate and uphold Blue Bottle's sustainability values.
- Assist in recruiting a diverse team and manage performance.
- Optimize staffing and shift management to deliver exemplary hospitality.
- Enhance guest experience through engagement, technical product education, and handling feedback.
- Collaborate with the Cafe Leader on business analysis, strategic planning, and action plans.
- Ensure accurate accounting of transactions, maintain inventory levels, and contribute to scheduling activities.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Manage controllable budget and labor hours efficiently.
Requirements
- Must be willing to relocate within a 50-mile radius of our market area.
- Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to smell and taste coffee and food for quality control.
- Ability to listen and speak with guests to take and fill orders, and guide experiences.
- The role is performed in an environment that may involve exposure to elevated temperatures and cooler temperatures.

Experience Level
- 1-2 years working in a leadership role or experience leading a team
- Preference for coffee, food, and beverage experience
Education Level
- Completed Blue Bottle Academy’s Barista training and validation program or will complete it within 90 days post-hire
- Existing Food Safety Certification required for the state you will be working in and for your specific role, or will obtain it within 30 days post-hire
Salary/Compensations
- $23.32 - $23.32 an hour
- $23.32 per hour + tips averaging approximately $5-$9 per shift hour
