About the Role
DREAM is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Career Development Manager. This role is responsible for innovating and leading the long-term planning and growth of DREAM’s career programs for its alumni, ensuring program excellence as the program scales to serve nearly 1,000 students over the next 10 years. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong knowledge of the postsecondary success landscape and a deep commitment to advancing career opportunities for students and alumni from underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead career-enhancing programming and career development services.
- Collaborate with the Advancement team to cultivate and manage career partnerships.
- Lead and grow DREAM’s internship programming.
- Co-lead high school career exposure opportunities.
- Coordinate with the Alumni Engagement Manager to connect alumni to internal career opportunities.
- Own and implement systems to organize and manage career exploration, development, and employment opportunities for DREAM students and alumni.
- Track participant activities and outcomes in Salesforce.
- Ensure the team consistently uses management systems.
- Equip Legends counselors to provide consistent career exploration and development support.
- Develop resources such as resume templates, interview preparation guides, and career planning tools.
- Provide targeted support to individuals with the greatest needs.
- Perform other responsibilities related to the Legends team as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 4+ years working with young adults (adolescents and early career professionals) required.
- Experience facilitating career programming required.
- Database management skills (e.g. Salesforce) required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and across teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel (typically within NY), including for occasional weekend and evening work.
- Deep commitment to DREAM’s mission, values, and graduate vision.
- Strong belief in the power of families as partners and leaders.
