About the Role
MATTE is seeking a Senior Experiential Designer to lead high-end experiential designs for various clients. This role involves conceptualizing and translating strategies into compelling, integrated designs within a built environment, managing projects from creative approach to production.
Responsibilities
- Lead aspects of experiential production design from green light through delivery.
- Responsible for leading environmental design, including creative conception, floorplans, renderings, environmental graphics, and construction/technical documentation.
- Manage multiple projects in various capacities, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead and shepherd creative from concept through production, collaborating with producers and project managers.
- Work with outside vendors to conceptualize and guide specialty design.
- Liaise with creative team and producers to translate designs into technical drawings using CAD software.
- Provide layered plans to vendors for lighting, audio, scenic, and video.
- Combine and maintain technical drawings for review by creative, technical, and permitting teams.
- Make adjustments based on creative and technical feedback.
- Provide plans to vendors for bidding, including measurements, elevations, and sections.
- Offer creative and logical solutions to reduce budget without compromising creative integrity.
- Manage direct client contact and build partnerships.
- Represent MATTE from a design perspective and serve as the point person for the production team.
- Assist with art direction execution and improve work with new angles, best practices, and practical solutions.
- Set up a training framework and ensure documentation is flawless.
- Maintain a block library and other commonly used assets.
- Visit venues in advance to gather necessary information and dimensions.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and develop improvements to drawing workflow.
- Collaborate with the Experiential Creative Director to develop creative solutions and ideas.
- Work with client-specific brand guidelines and manage projects from concept through production.
- Create and maintain consistent, high-level visuals, standards, and specifications.
- Work strategically with internal teams to build, maintain, and improve processes, workflows, systems, and policies.
