About the Role
The Youth Center Director oversees operations and programs, focusing on service delivery, facilities and budget management, staff development, and supervision. This role also assists with community relations, membership growth, and administration.
Responsibilities
- Manages and directs Club programs, conducting evaluations and analyzing member needs.
- Recruits, trains, directs, motivates, evaluates, and supervises clubhouse staff and volunteers.
- Assists with the preparation of the Club annual budget and operates within approved budget.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community groups, schools, and parents to publicize the Club and stimulate membership.
- Purchases supplies and equipment for the clubhouse.
- Maintains daily contact with professional staff to interpret organizational mission and program objectives.
- Completes time reporting for payroll and maintains reporting accuracy.
- Maintains accurate financial reconciliation files.
- Communicates the vision, mission, and program objectives of Madison Square Boys & Girls Clubs.
- Works with staff on special events and carries out programs in all program areas.
- Exercises authority in member-related problems, utilizing guidance and discipline plans.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization.
- Experience in non-profit operations management and supervision preferred.
- Equivalent combination of experience and education accepted.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to role model and promote a healthy lifestyle to members and their families.
