About the Role
Open Door Legal is creating the first digital platform designed to deliver universal access to civil legal representation. The IT Administrator ensures staff have functional technology to serve clients, playing a crucial role in the organization's mission to reduce poverty and increase access to justice.
Responsibilities
- Own the staff IT help desk, triaging, resolving, and escalating IT tickets for hardware and third-party platforms.
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, printing, conferencing, and account issues for staff remotely and in person.
- Act as the primary contact for third-party vendors and support desks.
- Provision accounts, licenses, permissions, and equipment for new employees, interns, volunteers, and contractors.
- Deliver IT orientation sessions for new staff members.
- Manage the offboarding process for departing personnel, including account disabling, license reclamation, data transfer, and equipment return/wiping.
- Manage the hardware lifecycle: procure, image, deploy, track, repair, and retire equipment, maintaining an accurate asset inventory.
- Maintain access and security hygiene, including enforcing MFA, password manager, and device encryption standards.
- Update IT documentation, maintain runbooks, and develop a self-serve knowledge base.
Requirements
- 1+ years in an IT support, help desk, or systems administrator role.
- Hands-on experience administering accounts and permissions in at least one major platform (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Okta, or similar).
- Comfort troubleshooting Mac and Windows hardware, mobile devices, printers, and video conferencing equipment.
- Demonstrated care with access, permissions, and confidential data.
- Strong written communication and a service mindset.
- Detail and process-oriented with the discipline to follow procedures consistently.
- Self-starter capable of working independently within scheduled hours and knowing when to escalate.
- Commitment to ODL's mission of universal access to legal representation.
