About the Role
Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants (NA) play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care every step of the way.
Responsibilities
- Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
- Participate in hourly rounds
- Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
- Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
- Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
- Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire
Skills
- Hospital experience as a nursing assistant
- Certification as a nursing assistant
- Experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
