About the Role
Lead a team of cashiers, provide direction and support, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This role involves assisting with operational issues, customer assistance, and maintaining store standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
- Ensure excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
- Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register.
- Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and maintain cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
- Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
- Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
- Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
- Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
- Ability to interact with customers and represent a role model in behaviors.
- Ability to operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment.
- Able to perform repetitious activities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
- Must lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers.
- Proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read, write, and count.
