About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to be a Security Architect within the Security and Resilience - Security Architecture team, acting as a subject matter expert on security framework architecture and standards for network, platforms, and security components. This role involves close interaction with various security and risk functions, researching emerging technologies, and collaborating with Colt technology groups to define and validate end-to-end architectures. The position balances internal responsibilities like defining target architectures and leading transformations with external activities such as engaging with vendors, customers, and industry forums.

Responsibilities

Design, deliver, and maintain the end-to-end target architecture for the security domain.
Collaborate with architecture, design, and engineering peers to align the architecture with the Colt technology landscape.
Design and consult on security elements for new product and technology introductions.
Support compliance and security enforcement projects.
Ensure Colt networks comply with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., TSA, DORA, ISO27001).
Conduct technology watching and translate research into actionable data and presentations for management.
Work with Colt Business Units on strategic initiatives and support key transformational or wide-scale projects.
Support product portfolio and product engineering teams on products and services strategy and developments.
Participate in and represent Colt at industry bodies.
Conduct capability mapping exercises.
Ensure all new implementations/changes across the Colt landscape follow a "Secure by Design" approach.
Assist with the development, planning, and delivery of "Hackathons" and other employee security awareness initiatives.

Requirements

3+ years of technical knowledge and practical experience in information security within large-scale enterprise or telecommunications environments.
5 years of experience and advanced understanding of information security concepts related to private and public cloud providers and services.
Understanding of key cloud design concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and their differences.
Experience with M365 security, specifically E5 security capabilities.
Ability to translate technical security jargon into clearly understood business language.
Experience in conducting risk assessments in accordance with a recognized risk assessment/management methodology.
Good understanding of software-defined concepts and technologies (SDN) as well as NFV concepts and technologies.
Understanding of network technologies (Role of Switches/Routers in network, TCP/IP IP stack, Knowledge of protocols such as HTTPS, SNMP, NTP, Telnet, SSH).
Understanding of security enabling technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filtering platforms, proxies, DMZ, anti-malware, anti-spam, anti-ransomware, anti-DDOS, NAC and MDM technologies).
Entry-level experience of UNIX and/or MS Windows including Active Directory.
Strong team player able to lead small teams of senior architects/engineers, drive projects and activities.
Good combination of creative and analytical skills, able to deliver complex documents and "connect the dots".
