About the Role

Responsibilities

Supports and contributes to evolving the Enterprise Data Strategy and Architecture.
Applies ETL and data movement solutions to support target data models using traditional database systems.
Enhances and develops detailed architecture and technical design documentation, including transitional and data flows.
Works independently and/or as a team member to solution design, including work by Vendors & Internal Partners.
Maintains COTS applications, including interfaces, configuration, database tuning, and GUI.
Monitors vendor bulletins, sites, publications, and user groups for enhancements and releases.
Manages features and enhancements for mobile and web user applications.
Provides 2nd level support and triages assigned tickets based on priorities.
Analyzes and improves current system integrations and migration strategies.
Identifies, debugs, and advises on system errors or architecture issues.
Collaborates with project team members and business analysts to understand requirements and design solutions.
Supports each stage of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Oversees all development activities for the offshore team.
Analyzes issues with team members and responds quickly to business needs within deadlines in an Agile environment.
Communicates end-to-end data outcomes to all levels of the team hierarchy.
Troubleshoots potential issues and identifies resolutions.
Performs code reviews, ensures development team adherence to standards, and verifies proper test coverage and unit testing.
Identifies ways to utilize the platform to improve productivity and makes recommendations for scaling.
Provides technical leadership, setting best practices for integration, application development, deployment, testing, and iterative refinement.
Understands Reliance’s current integration environment.
Designs, develops, and implements complex database systems, programs, and applications.
Provides thought leadership with scoping solution design for process improvements, ERD diagrams, Database architecture, and documentation.

Requirements

College diploma or university degree in computer science or information systems.
5+ years of application development, configuration, and support experience.
Excellent understanding of application development environments, techniques, and operational activities for enterprise-level applications.
Demonstrated experience working with large-scale, high-availability applications.
Experience in Database Design and development with Business Intelligence using SQL Server 2016/2019, Integration Services (SSIS), DTS Packages, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), DAX, OLAP Cubes, Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
Used Azure download/upload tasks to download and upload blobs.
Created automated workflows with triggers, runbooks, and ETL sequences.
Excellent time and workload management skills.
Good knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of database structuring, optimization, tuning, analysis, and recommendation.
Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills.
Team player with good logical reasoning ability, coordination, and ability to complete projects independently.
Ability to act as a mentor to team members.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Experience driving continuous improvement.
