About the Role
This is a unique new opportunity to manage modern and forward-looking books of claims within the Hiscox Portfolio Solutions (HPS) division. You will work closely with leadership and claims teams to drive the continuous development and improvement of the London Market Hiscox Claims service.
Responsibilities
- Manage claim portfolios for lead, follow, and fully delegated business.
- Liaise with Claims Operations and the Claims Vendor team to ensure appropriate claims processing structures and data availability.
- Review and understand claims data to provide portfolio-level insights into HPS books of business, identifying trends and activity requiring action.
- Liaise with Reserving and Underwriting to review HPS books of business, understanding claims performance to support changes in pricing, underwriting appetite, or reserving assumptions.
- Engage with third parties handling claims on behalf of Hiscox to understand claims performance and gain insights not visible from data.
- Liaise with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Collaborate with underwriters on lead business to understand business and claims requirements.
- Ensure claims servicing and appropriate business planning or delegated arrangements are in place for lead business claims handled by non-HPS teams.
- Serve as the Main Claims Contact for the HPS Division.
Requirements
- Experience overseeing a portfolio of claims across multiple lines of insurance, including first and third party, particularly in the Lloyd's market.
- Proven record in developing and driving oversight and understanding of technical claims handling.
- Experience managing and engaging with others (internal and external) handling claims on your behalf.
- Experience and understanding of the significance of a reserving philosophy for the claim life cycle.
- Experience using analytical techniques to interpret data and produce meaningful insights into claims issues.
