About the Role
Solutions Engineering at hx is the technical heart of our go-to-market organization, responsible for securing the Technical Win by convincing stakeholders that hx is the platform they can trust. Solutions Engineers operate at the forefront of our product, customer, and industry, tackling complex problems that require technical depth, market expertise, and Renew knowledge. As a key early contact, you will help customers reimagine pricing and underwriting, transforming ideas into practical, production-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical sales motion for complex opportunities, driving the technical win across discovery, demos, proofs of value, and technical evaluations using AI-assisted processes.
- Design and deliver high-impact, persona-led demos for actuaries, underwriters, IT, and executive stakeholders, showcasing the power of hx Renew and the art of the possible.
- Run technically ambitious POVs, innovating at the edge of hx Renew’s capabilities to address complex or novel customer use cases.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process, contributing to RFPs and RFIs, answering technical questions, and handling objections.
- Rapidly build deep expertise in hx Renew, Python-based workflows, insurance pricing, and AI use cases to become a credible technical authority.
- Feed real-world customer insights back into Product and Engineering to help shape future platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience coding in Python.
- Experience as an Actuary, Underwriter, or Technical Broker.
- Exposure to technical, customer-facing work within a B2B SaaS, technology, or data-driven environment.
- Experience supporting or observing multi-stakeholder conversations where technical considerations needed to be explained, justified, or adapted for different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build, adapt, or explain technical artifacts.
- Evidence of earning trust through clear communication, curiosity, and follow-through.
- A strong sense of ownership and collaboration, with examples of working closely with peers across technical and non-technical functions.

- Base: $160,000 - $195,000
- Bonus/Commission: $40,000 - $75,000
- Total Compensation: between $210,000 - $280,000
