About the Role
As a Security Officer Armed Driver in New London, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver's license. Deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while embodying Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access and verify authorization for persons, vehicles, and deliveries entering or exiting designated areas in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting appropriate assistance when needed.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and communications with site representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
