About the Role
Newpark Childcare is seeking a Montessori Classroom Assistant who shares their passion for fostering independence, confidence, concentration, and a lifelong love of learning in children. The role involves supporting children aged 2-5 within a Montessori environment, encouraging hands-on learning, and maintaining a nurturing classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Support children aged 2–5 years in our Montessori environment
- Encourage independence, choice and hands-on learning
- Support activities across Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture
- Observe and respond to each child’s individual interests and developmental needs
- Help maintain a beautifully prepared, calm and inviting classroom
- Encourage children to develop confidence, concentration and self-discipline
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Work as part of a team to provide exceptional care and education
- Follow safeguarding, nursery policies and high standards of practice
Requirements
- Experience working with children under 5 – essential
- Fluent English – essential
- A strong commitment to safeguarding
- Willingness to complete a DBS check and provide references
- Believe in giving children the time, space and support to “do it themselves” and develop into confident, capable learners.
Skills
- Montessori experience or a genuine interest in Montessori education – desirable
- Positive, flexible and collaborative approach
- Excellent communication skills

Salary/Compensations
- £15.30/hour (Level 2)
- £16.30/hour (Level 3)
- £14.80/hour (unqualified)
