About the Role

Our pastry cook completes baking and assigns duties in the preparation and service of baked goods, pastries, desserts and other commodities to our guests, while using the best-in-class quality assurance standards and promoting a Health and Safety culture.

Responsibilities

Prepares and sets up all bakery, pastry & dessert menu items as per weekly rotation schedule and planned events.
Completes production list daily for required items.
Follows all recipe specifications to ensure consistency.
Sets up, trays, and plates baked goods, desserts, and pastries.
Ensures that labeling and dating of platters are accurate and verified.
Ensures all bakery and dessert products are of the highest quality.
Completes production records daily, with waste records.
Maintains all work areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
Cleans and sanitizes all job areas between tasks, and in preparation of service.
Follows the master cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, monthly cleaning of equipment.
Communicates potential product shortages to the Pastry Chef.
Replenishes café baked items as needed and records revisions to order.
Helps where needed to ensure all areas are ready for service.
Interacts with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards and company inventory procedures.

Requirements

Must complete tasks in a timely manner and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to follow both written and spoken direction.
Must be comfortable working with precision in a food service environment.
Must be able to start at 5am for opening bakery shift.
Pays attention to detail and addresses concerns quickly.
Interacts with managers, supervisors and other associates in a positive, respectful manner.
Follows manager direction as required.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to walk.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to see clearly at close distances.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to understand, read, write, follow instructions and interact with customers in order to assure customer satisfaction.
Must possess a valid Food Handler's Certificate.
Must be bondable.

Salary/Compensations

$19 per hour
Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
