About the Role

Join the Climate & Sustainable Finance (C&SF) team as a Senior Advisor to help build and implement EDC’s Climate Action Plan and advance sustainable finance efforts. This role is crucial for integrating climate and sustainable finance into EDC's core business and processes, working with clients to build climate capacity, and managing portfolio climate risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the implementation of EDC’s Climate Action Plan through expert research, analysis, advice, and cross-team coordination.
• Engage with various teams to advance climate and sustainable finance initiatives.
• Support the advancement of EDC’s sustainable and climate finance initiatives, including idea generation and direct engagement with business lines.
• Support the advancement of EDC’s portfolio climate risk management.
• Support the advancement of EDC’s client climate capacity-building efforts.
• Liaise with external consultants and coordinate their efforts.
• Monitor emerging ESG trends, conduct research and analysis, and convert insights into tangible deliverables for the Climate Action Plan.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in environmental studies, law, engineering, business, or science (including climate change science).
• Minimum of 7-8 years of financial services experience and/or working in the sustainability space.
• Demonstrated experience at the intersection of climate change and financial services.
• Experience with program development, implementation, and/or training.
• Ability to align and adjust milestones and targets to maintain forward momentum.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), including effective business writing skills.
• Must be able to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents).
• Must meet requisite government security screening requirements.

Salary/Compensations

• Salaries typically range from $112,006 to $149,341 annually, plus a performance-based incentive.
